• Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) Program

    The Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) program, including Summer P-EBT, ended September 30, 2023. The final benefits were issued in summer of 2023. If you have questions, call Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS) at 866-513-1414 or 804-294-1633 Monday - Friday between 8:15 a.m. - 5 p.m.

    P-EBT was a federal program created in spring 2020 to supplement school meals that students missed while schools were closed or placed on part-time attendance schedules due to COVID-19. Certain students were eligible for P-EBT benefits under the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and met specific conditions as defined by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

    To be eligible for the most recent Summer 2023 P-EBT program, the student was required to attend a school that participates in the USDA National School Lunch Program (NSLP) AND either determined free or reduced-price eligible by meal application or direct certification OR attending a Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) school.
