Principal – Will Krause

Greetings Grandin Court Parents, Guardians and Families,

Welcome to the 2023-24 school year! I am honored to serve as the Principal of Grandin Court Elementary. I had a wonderful first year serving the students and families at GCES and look forward to this coming year and many more.  I am the third generation in my family to serve Roanoke City Public Schools and am proud to call this division my home. I am product of Roanoke City Schools, having grown up here in the valley.

Over the course of my educational journey, I have served as teacher, coach, assistant principal, and principal in several school divisions. I am particularly fond of working at the elementary level and have a great deal of experience working in multiple grade levels. I will be starting my 19th year in education this upcoming school year.

As an educational leader, I wholeheartedly believe that by establishing a collaborative learning environment with high expectations, we build positive relationships that support academic and social growth. It is my goal to ensure that our children continue to receive a top-notch education in an environment that is safe and nurturing every day. I am committed to working in partnership with our families, staff and community to support our students in reaching their maximum potential.

In my opinion, we have the best school around! Our teachers and staff care greatly about each child that walks through our front doors each day. Our daily goal is to ensure that your child learns and feels loved. I look forward to a great 2023-24 school year together. Thank you for your support!
