NEW: Summer EBT - Virginia SUN Bucks

The Virginia Department of Social Services is introducing Virginia SUN Bucks, a new federal food benefit program created to reduce childhood hunger by providing eligible children with a one-time $120 benefit to purchase groceries. The program begins July 1, 2024. This program replaces the P-EBT Program. On or after July 1, visit www.virginiasunbucks.com to apply and for more information. Download the Virginia Department of Social Services' information sheet about Virginia SUN Bucks and the frequently asked questions (FAQ) document to learn more.

The SUN Bucks program is administered through the Virginia Department of Social Services, and all questions should be directed to VDSS.

    2024-25 School Year
All RCPS students will receive free breakfast and lunch during the 2024-25 School Year. Interested in purchasing additional a la carte items? Pay by using SchoolCafe.

The Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) is a provision from the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010 that allows school and local educational agencies (LEAs) with high poverty rates to provide free breakfast and lunch to all students. CEP eliminates the burden of collecting household applications to determine eligibility for school meals, relying instead on information from other means-tested programs such as the Supplement Nutrition Assistance Program and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families. All RCPS schools participate in the Community Eligibility Provision.
